The event may be postponed for a year, but there is no reason to go without your very own festival of flavour. We’ve teamed up with the award-winning cheesemakers at White Lake, to bring you three of their incredible cheeses. Made at Bagborough Farm, a mere stone’s throw away from the Glastonbury festival site.
For the support act, we've added our own Fig, Honey and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crackers to make a harmonious cheese selection box.
Goat, Thermised Milk, Vegetarian
Tor is coated in ash, and has a smooth interior and light delicate taste, which matures to a deeper tang. Winner of the Best Fresh Cheese & Best Goat Cheese Awards at The British Cheese Awards 2015.
Goat, Thermised, Vegetarian
When young, Eve is a soft and creamy cheese, but it develops in complexity as it matures. There are 'nutty' hints that complement the 'goaty' notes, and both are balanced by the slightly pungent rind.
Pavé Cobble 200g
Sheep, Thermised, Vegetarian
This lactic sheep's milk cheese is delicately hand-ladled before being salted, “charcoaled”, and then matured for around three weeks to form a wrinkly rind, which protects the light mousse-like core. The cheese is named in celebration of the Spring classic bike races on the cobbled roads in Belgium and northern France, the winner of which receives an actual cobble as a prize. These roads are called pavés. Hence the name of the cheese.
Fig, Honey and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crackers 125g
Intentionally subtle, so as to never overwhelm the cheese. Flavoured with fig and a drizzle of honey. Serve with Manchego or any sheep’s milk cheese.
