The first event, on Wednesday 25th November (7-8pm), features five of Britain’s finest modern cheeses. You’ll get a British Brie-style cheese, a Welsh ‘Cheddar’, a blue made by a renowned Stilton-making family, a silky smooth goats’ milk cheese, an impeccably delicate little washed rind cheese and complementary crackers. You can even add our wine pairing recommendations and have these delivered at the same time.
As this is a hosted event that allows you to participate and type in your own questions, tickets are strictly limited. So join up and get the lockdown lowdown on modern British cheese.
We will send you an email with a link to join the event on the morning of 25th November.
To ensure you receive your cheese selection for the tasting, please select delivery for 24th November at checkout.
The Cheese Selection
Baron Bigod – 125g
Cow, Raw Milk
A fabulously full-flavoured Brie-style cheese, hand-made in Suffolk by Jonny Crickmore from the milk of his own herd of Montbeliard cows. A stunning cheese, with a rich, full, earthy flavour and a lingering finish.
St. Cera - 95g
Cow, Raw Milk
Smooth and silky, with a flavour that is buttery, complex and lingering, while perfectly balanced between fruity and savoury. Spoon it directly from the box and savour every morsel.
Sinodun Hill – 100g
Goat, Raw Milk, Vegetarian
A fabulous goats’ cheese from Oxfordshire: delicate, rich, smooth and complex.
Hafod - 125g
A Welsh, raw-milk Cheddar cheese, hand-made by the Holden family from the organic milk of their Ayrshire herd. Buttery, rich and nutty.
Beauvale - 125g
Inspired by soft, mild, European, blue cheeses like Gorgonzola Dolce, Beauvale is delicate, rich and buttery.
All-Butter Wheat Crackers - 125g
Delicate, all-butter, melt-in-the-mouth crackers. A neutral partner for cheese.
Ben and Nick's Wine Pairing Recommendations:
Igrexario de Saiar Benito Santos 2017
Albariño, Spain, 75cl, 13% ABV
Ripe and balanced, with notes of peaches, green apples, white flowers, and tropical fruit. Its soft texture is countered by great acidity that keeps the flavours fresh and lively.
Noval 10 Year Old Tawny Port
37.5cl, 19.5% ABV
Picked by hand and trodden by foot, Old Tawnies spend their life in oak barrels until bottling. They take on the characteristics of walnuts, dried fruits and spices, in colour and flavour. Elegant in style and utterly delicious.
