Crottin
Sweet and mouth-filling, with notes of ‘hazelnut’. Nurtured by Rodolphe to grow a soft, fluffy coat. As the cheese becomes firmer, the paste grows denser and the floral flavours are balanced by deeper, nuttier tones, but Crottin is delicious at all ages.

Fourme D'Ambert Xavier Morin
Rich, with mineral tones. The caves of the Massif Central are renowned for blue cheese maturation. Unlike its Southern cousins, this cheese is matured to form a thin natural rind, and is in this way closer to Stilton.

Stärnächäs Extra Mature
Aroma of honey. Rich and creamy texture. Nutty flavour. A star by name and nature, as Stärnächäs, made at the foot of Alp Säntis by Kaserei Gabriel, gets its name from the ‘heavenly pleasure’ it provides.

Sold outCamembert Rodolphe le Meunier
Selected by award-winning affineur Rodolphe Le Meunier, this soft-ripened Camembert is made from pasteurised cow’s milk. Its bloomy rind encases a rich, glossy paste with buttery, earthy flavours and delicate mushroom notes.

Quercyfeuille au Romarin
Plump and hearty. Salty and 'yeasty'. Made on a family farm with only 200 lively goats, this speciality of the South is aromatised with rosemary oil, then dried and ripened in Rodolphe le Meunier’s caves.

Hand-Selected Sparkenhoe Red Leicester
Nutty and mellow in flavour, and flaky in texture. Bound in cloth, and ripened for six months on beechwood shelves, this is the only hand-made raw milk Red Leicester. (The traditional orange-red colour is annatto, derived from the seeds of the achiote tree.)

Gorgonzola Al Cucchiaio
Rich, creamy and spoon-able. Translated literally, ‘Gorgonzola al Cucchiaio’ means ‘Gorgonzola with a Spoon’, which is how it is eaten in Lombardy.

We only offer ‘artisan’ cheeses, some of which may only be bought through us. By ‘artisan’, we mean cheeses made predominantly by small producers using traditional methods, and often making only one cheese and with the milk from their own herd. We have direct relationships with the cheese-makers (and affineurs) themselves, specifying and agreeing on age, condition, flavour profile... then those cheeses are personally selected for The Fine Cheese Co. We prefer to collect our British cheeses directly from the farms, and we mature them appropriately here in Bath. We similarly specify and import cheeses directly from Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Holland.
